Our topcoats our specially formulated for three things:

    1. Specially formulated to hold our weathered wood colors!
    2. Architectural quality for the highest degree of protection.
    3. Non-yellowing, water-based formula.

    • 1 Quart = 100 sq/ft
    • VOC Compliant
    • Anti-Yellowing
    • Stain Resistant

    Brush Application

To apply Weatherwood Satin Varnish with a brush you want a good quality brush or a sponge brush. Neither will leave brush marks. We prefer to use the sponge brush, two in fact.  One to apply the topcoat and another to wipe off any drips, overlap, or bubbles.

    • Apply in sections when working on a large project. Just keep a wet edge as you work.
    • Weatherwood Varnish is easy to work with for brush application, it will self level and is not overly thick.
    • On a difficult project like a door, we used angled sponges to make sure the crevices were all covered.
    • Wet varnish may look slightly blue or purple, but will dry clear.

You should allow the wood to dry between coats, dry time 20-30 minutes.

Varnish is available in 2 sheens: Dead Flat and Satin

As the varnish dries, looks can be deceiving. Note when the varnish is wet, it almost looks blue or purple. But it will disappear as it dries!
